Evant State Bank was chartered in Evant, TX in 1912 with $10,000.00 in capital. The Bank’s first president was W.C. Brooks, father of Evant Brooks. Evant State Bank converted to a National Bank charter in 1925 becoming, The First National Bank of Evant. For 52 years Evant Brooks would serve as the President and Chairman of the bank. In 1963 Charles “Jack” Elam bought stock in the bank eventually becoming the Chairman of the Board in 1965.
The current ownership acquired The First National Bank of Evant from The Elam Family in 2005. In 2006, we expanded our bank and opened a second branch location in Gatesville, and in 2017 we purchased our third location in Oglesby. In 2018 we expanded on our Gatesville Branch adding an Operations Center. We now have three locations and our operations center all within Coryell County. At The First National Bank of Evant we are happy and thankful to serve all of the people that bank with us.
The First National Bank now has a staff of 34 employees between our locations. Our employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to providing our customers with quick and efficient services based on their individual banking needs. Our bank takes great pride in having served our community and the surrounding area for 114 years.
